poetry

In this unit we learn something about poetry. And the first time is real hard to know what poetry is, and how to write poetry.
The poetry is a story with rhythm. If you want to know how to write poetry, you have to know rhythm, rhyme scheme, meter. And sometimes we can use metaphor, couplet in our poetry. And there are lots of kinds of poetry we can choose. They are free verse, diamante, haiku, cinquain...
The free verse is like you can write what ever you want. The diamante is a seven lined poem that starts with a noun, ends with an antonym for that noun, and is in the shape of a diamond. The cinquain is a five land poem that can follow a word count, syllable count, or part of speech format. The haiku is a three lined poem that follows a 5-7-5 syllable pattern.
  But my favorite is haiku.
EX.   WHO am I?
           I live in China.
I would like to eat bamboo.
          I am black and white.
We learn lots of things in this part.

  2. Tina,

I am guessing that your haiku poem is about a panda. I really enjoyed reading it. You are a creative writer. I look forward to reading more of your poetry in your poetry book.
